Zoom wont connect to bluetooth speaker. How To Connect Bluetooth Speaker To Zoom Meeting?

Reseting the Bluetooth connection may help if your computer is connected to a Bluetooth-connected external audio device. There is no need to take it off after Bluetooth gets established between your computer or mobile device and Bluetooth device.

Are you able to see the little speaker icon. I have the same issue and also use an ipad. As you can see from the screen shot there is no speaker icon. How do I connect to Bluetooth using the iPad zoom screen please? I’m having exactly the same problem. Around December it all broke. I have the speaker button, the phone speakerphone works, but when I switch it to BT it just comes out the phone earpiece.

I’m trying to use it with the same BT headphones. The headphones are connected and I can play music and make phone calls through them. My phone Samsung Note 20 ultra was updated recently and is running Android I just completely uninstalled Zoom, deleted all the data, and reinstalled it. I’m having the same issue exactly as described.

Android Zoom app refuses to send audio to any bluetooth speaker that doesn’t have a microphone. It would be much better if I could listen to presentations, large group meetings, etc. I hope Zoom people can understand the rationale for this request and fix the app so it can send audio output to an external bluetooth speaker.

Hi InspectorGadget SaraKarolina LynTh Domw9rld as your cases may be unique, I would suggest contacting our Zoom technical support and they can further look into your issue. Suggest after the creation of your ticket, to share the solution that’s provided. If you’re unable to open a ticket with our Zoom support team, I can also help with that process. Hi RN I think this is a real issue and not unique to the people above. It behaves exactly as they describe for me too. As this screenshot, you can see Zoom does connect via Bluetooth, however, the audio still comes out from my Android phone, Pixel 3 XL, rather than my earphone.

Definitely not unique. Exact same issue for me and also for my partner. We’ve been trying and searching for months. There’s no way of having a different sound output device. I’m adding my voice to this as well.

If you’re using Wi-Fi, see if you can plug into a wired connection instead, as it’s likely to be more stable than Wi-Fi, or move closer to your router. This is definitely worth doing if you always have a connection problem on Zoom. If it’s a one-off problem, there’s likely nothing you can do about it except wait for the problem to pass – you could try stopping all other activity on your connection to let Zoom have all the bandwidth available.

Check you’re not muted: When you join a Zoom meeting you’ll normally have to click to activate the microphone, because you’re muted. Look for the microphone icon in the bottom left hand corner, if it’s crossed out, click it to unmute your microphone. If you’re on the mobile app, you’ll have to “join with audio” to be able to speak or hear sound. If using an external microphone: Many external mics have they own mute feature – make sure the mic itself isn’t muted.

Check your Bluetooth connection: If you join a call and no one can hear you, check you’re not connected to a Bluetooth headset elsewhere in the house. It might be that an existing connection has claimed your audio. Or, if you want to use a Bluetooth headset, make sure it’s properly connected to the device running Zoom.

Check the audio source in Zoom: If you’re in a call and no one can hear you, you can click on the up arrow to expand the audio button in the Zoom app. You’ll then see the options available on your computer so you can use the correct microphone. Check the audio settings in Zoom: Similar to above, if you’re not in a meeting you can open Zoom, open the settings and head to “audio”.

Here you’ll have the option to set your preferences as well as test the microphone and speaker on your PC to see if it’s working. If your mic is too quiet, you can turn up the levels here. My Mac can’t access the mic: Sometimes your Mac might say it can’t access the microphone and ask you to restart.
