To join a meeting using Zoom Client, open the application on your computer. This information must be provided to you by the host. If the host emailed the invitation to you, it would be located below the URL link. The meeting ID is usually a series of numbers. You must provide a name to appear in the participants list for the meeting. You can also choose to have your audio and video off upon entering the meeting by checking those boxes. Before you start using Zoom, you have to set it up first.

That means making an account, downloading the required apps, and taking care of a few basic settings. All you have to do is enter your work email address, activate your account via a link sent to you in an email, and add your name and a password of choice. These include the app for your PC and the app for your Android or iOS device if you plan on joining meetings on the go.

You can join a Zoom meeting on your PC without the app, as the software works in a browser. However, its feature set is limited in this case. For that reason, our advice is to get the app.

We recommend uploading your profile image, which will show up in a Zoom meeting when your camera is turned off — making you look more professional. The final thing we recommend you do is to decide whether you want the camera and microphone to be turned on or off by default when you join a meeting.

Otherwise, open a browser and go to Zoom. Alternatively, you can go directly to the Sign Up page. Complete the signup process. You’ll need to enter an email address and then confirm this is your email address by clicking the Activate Account link in an email that Zoom sends to you.

After your email is confirmed, finish the signup process by entering your name and creating a password. Once you submit your name and password, Zoom will ask you to invite colleagues.

This is an optional step, and you can choose not to do this. Click Skip this step. After you have an account, go to the Zoom website and make sure you’re logged into your account using the link at the top of the page. After a moment, you should see a prompt to open the Zoom app. If you do, click Open Zoom. If you don’t see the prompt, you might need to install the app before proceeding. You don’t have to start your meeting immediately. Zoom allows you to schedule a meeting for a later day or time.

To do that, open a browser and go to Zoom. Then click the link that says Schedule a New Meeting at the top of the page. Complete the Schedule a Meeting form to set up a meeting name, description, date, and time, as well as other details. When you’ve completed the meeting setup, click Save at the bottom of the page. Use your favorite email app to send the message to whomever you want to attend your meeting. Zoom has become immensely popular in the last few years and is often the web conferencing tool of choice.
